Our Story So Far
Since 2022, KAA has grown into a gospel powerhouse—here’s the full recap of our epic journey:
2022 Edition: A groundbreaking debut for gospel awards in Nigeria! We honored talents like Mike Abdul, Onos Ariyo, Ty Bello, Okopi Peterson, Testimony Jaga, Ibksings, Greatmantakit, Neon Adejo, Spirit of Prophecy, and DJ Horphuray. Gospel producers got their shine too, with SMJ taking home Best Gospel Producer. With over 13 categories, we celebrated DJs, bloggers, and more. Nominees spanned the nation, votes poured in, and partnerships with Boomplay Music, Azusa Production, Châteaux De Atlantic, Beat FM, Naija FM, and TWC Records amplified the night. Two artists even scored sponsorship deals, fueling gospel entertainment’s rise.
2023 Edition: We soared higher at Lagos Oriental Hotels, Victoria Island, hosting over 500 attendees, including nominees and their reps. With 103 nominations across 34 categories, the night buzzed with energy. Neon Adejo won New Spotlight Artist of the Year, bagging a land property from Escort Reality and a 6-month wardrobe allowance from Wurafadaka Fashion House. Nina Shezz, Rising Star winner, nabbed a 1-month Boomplay promotion. Music execs like Eezee Tee, Dr. Foy, Evidence, and Tunde Praise earned honorary awards, while legends Wale Adenuga, Dr. Edward Sunday, Buchi, Asu Ekiye, Tope Alabi, Chioma Jesus, and the late Sammie Okposo received special recognition. Hosts Mc Forever and Sabrina Ozma kept the vibes electric, backed by CCI and Logic Church support.
2024 Edition: Our third edition at Muson Centre, Lagos, was pure fire! Top dignitaries graced the event, and our pre-show “Inspire Conference” featured insights from Fabian George, Harry Krown, Marvel Umoh, King James, and Tito the Writer. We added fresh categories like Hypeman of the Year (won by BlackboyMCM) and Christian Fashion Influencer (Veekee James). With 115 nominees and 500+ attendees braving Lagos traffic, the night rocked with performances by Favour, Nina Shezz, and Kachii. Dr. Paul Enenche’s “Elee,” directed by Dunny Drille (Music Video Director of the Year), won Music Video of the Year. GreatmanTakit claimed Spotlight Artist of the Year with a landed property in Eko Gardens from Equity Circle. Sponsors like The New York Session, Boomplay, Azusa Production, Upsource, Oapay, Logic Church, Equity Circle and WuraFadaka powered us. Special awards went to Woli Arole (Humanitarian) and Dr. Flourish Peters, Dr. Tim Godfrey, and Onos Ariyo (Recognition). Hosted by MC Forever and Cera, it was a night to remember.
With each edition, we bring more heat, heart, and gospel greatness.
